Richmond Clinical Assessment Service (RCAS) manages referrals from local GPs ensuring that you get the most appropriate treatment, whether that is in a hospital outpatients clinic, from a professional with special training relevant to your condition or from your GP.

Your referral will be reviewed by an experienced doctor who will help to decide the best option for your assessment and treatment. RCAS manages your referrals and books your appointments locally and uses a national computer system called choose and book.

When a member of staff from RCAS contacts you to book your appointment, you will be asked for confirmation of your identify. If you contact RCAS, you will need your NHS number, DOB and the name of your GP practice.

You should hear from RCAS to book an appointment within one week however if you have not heard anything in that time, please call RCAS on 0208 339 7283 between 11am and 7pm or email and a member of the team will be happy to check the status of your referral.

If you need an interpreter to support you when RCAS calls you, please contact the Patient Advice & Liason Service (PALS) ON0208 973 3111 or email
